$366-005 The Anatomy of an Angel\'s Wing$

$I went to London at the weekend (which is why I\'m a day late posting this) to visit some friends and take some photographs. I stayed with a friend, Nick, who has two Guinea Pigs : I\'d like to introduce you all to Print, one of the two that belong to Nick\'s family.$

$To show I have no favouritism between the two, and also for my friend <a href=\"http://www.flickr.com/photos/kesiahosking/\" target=\"_blank\">Kesia</a>, here is Stevie Gee, the Dad of Print (366-006).$

$Three copies of Ísland í gegnum linsu, my first solo Blurb book. One copy is mine, the other two are going to friends who ordered at the same time as me. <a href=\"http://sfgphotography.co.uk/?page_id=61\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Details here</a> if you think you might also be interested.$

$Spying over the shoulder of my housemate whilst he works on his Mac. I initially thought of shooting the screen in focus, then I realised that his work-in-progress is copyright to him, and I didn\'t want to get sued (or beaten up) so I went with the above.$

$Part two of my impromptu sci-fi set. Today, we have the TARDIS, tomorrow\'s subject is seen in the background.$

$Final part of the sci-fi triple postings. I picked up this whilst in Bruges last year. I deliberated over whether or not I should actually get it but I\'m quite happy that I now own it.$

$366-015 It\'s not Giottos, it\'s Mine!$

$I just signed on for the dole for the first time since being made redundant at the end of December \'10 and it\'s such a warm day outside with a refreshing cool breeze.$

$There\'s been a lot of construction and DIY going on in our place recently. If it\'s not drilling in to walls to hang paintings, then it\'s shelf building. Here you can see the partially built shelves that the landlord is constructing.$

$New camera bag. I got a new lens and it wouldn\'t fit with the rest of my gear in the old camera bag, so I had to get another one. The old one will be sold to offset some of the cost of the upgrade.$

$This was never meant to be part of this set. It was taken for something else altogether. What I really wanted was a picture of the SuperMoon for today\'s entry in my 366, but it was way too cloudy to see the moon. I even asked a friend if he could see it in the vain hope he could, so I\'d drive over to his place and we\'d both photograph it, but it was too cloudy where he was too. So, this\'ll have to do, Sorry folks. It\'s a Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM Nikon mount.$

$A light fitting in our house. I was hoping to get the purple colour of the bulbs that they emit whilst warming up, but it\'s too late in the day to worry about that now. I like the cool B&W effect this image has, even though it\'s not actually monochrome.$

$Took a poto like this the other day on my iPhone (<a href=\"http://twitpic.com/4b3xqe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">see here</a>) and found the visual so interesting I mentally filed it away to come back and explore at a later date. I guess today was that date.$

$Myself and a friend went to Dunluce Castle today - amongst other locations - and here\'s a shot from that set. It was taken handheld using The Monster. I have to say, that lens is going to take some getting used to, but I\'m already enjoying the results I get from it. More images from today will be posted when I\'m not quite so shattered - The Monster is bloody heavy.$

$I took this yesterday specifically for posting here. Actually, I took a lot of images yesterday at Dunluce Castle with the intention of putting in my 366 set, so there\'s likely to be a few more appearing over the coming days. This was taken looking West from the Castle wall of part of the Antrim coastline.$

$Another one from the Dunluce Castle trip. Simple idea, see a hole in a wall and point your camera through it. I wouldn\'t advise that course of action on a wall that has occupants on the other side of it though. Luckily for me, this one didn\'t.$

$Back to Dunluce Castle for today\'s photograph (I\'m nearly done with the pictures I took on this trip, so regular transmission will resume shortly), this was taken just after 024 - Straw. I was just about to make my way down a set of steps when I noticed the ridges of the staircase that I was on and quickly snapped this photo.$

$I\'ve been planning to do something like this for a while, then the Dunluce Castle trip came along and pushed this on to the back burner (no pun intended). The one below in the comments is a different image from the same set.$

$It\'s been a month since I did any photo editing on you, I\'m not used to having such a mahoosive amount of screen space. It\'s good to have you back.$

$Foursquare(s). A little bit lacking in the inspiration department today. Hopefully tomorrow\'s effort will be a little better.$

$366-136 - Last Night\'s Moon$

$This was just one of a load of birds (seagulls, swans, ducks) that were clamouring for food being thrown their way by various people. It\'s just one shot of a lot I have remaining from this moment, but it\'s also one of the more graceful photos of a bird in flight that I think I\'ve ever taken.$

$Hooray! Ripley the Bearded Dragon is back with us for another few days. \\•/$

$I took a quick photowalk around the Waterfront area of Belfast tonight. I got a few images, most of which are far better than this, but y\'know … I\'ve gotta start somewhere. *shrug*$

$366-287 - My God, it\'s Full of Stars$

$366-312 - Don\'t Ask Me$

$There\'s been a concerted effort just recently to shred everything that\'s not required in our household. Sadly, the shredder that\'s been put to this use is somewhat old and buggered.$

$I\'ve been wanting to take a shot of these storage boxes for a while, but the right moment hadn\'t really presented itself until today. There\'s something I find very pleasing about the grain of natural wood.$

$Sadly nothing to do with a certain group of Ninja Turtles, this is the shredder which created the subject of yesterday\'s 366. It took me about half an hour to manually pick all the bits of stuck paper out from the mechanism to get a decent enough shot of the spiky discs which do all the shredding. The image below more clearly shows the effects of abuse that has been inflicted on this item during it\'s lifetime.$

$Trying to look at my immediate environment differently, so I\'ll start with this which is the living room of the house I live in.$

$Every time the weather is anything other than dry and fine the front door jams. We can fight with it to get it open, but it\'s even more of a struggle to close it afterwards. We can\'t close it from the outside - even on good weather days - as the handle falls off. Apparently someone is coming to take a look at it, so I thought documentary evidence of it while it was still in it\'s dilapidated state was in order. That\'s my jacket hanging over the bottom of the banister.$

$366-218 - Slits \'n\' String$

$The landing of my room (all the way down at the end on the left). While this is a very similar composition to yesterday\'s image it\'s actually looking in the opposite direction - towards the back of the house. The room at the end with the door open is the bathroom.$

$I\'m not one for photographing cooked food, but biscuits are a different matter. I\'ve been known to take snaps of cake and other sweet goods with my iPhone - some of you may have seen the caramel slice pictures that appear on my Facebook profile from time to time. These are new Double Stuff Oreo cookies, and as the name suggests, they have double the amount of \"stuff\" between the biscuit layers. For anyone looking for them in their local shop or supermarket, they come in a white packet.$

$The edge cover of a small indoor trampoline that belongs to the landlord of where I live. I don\'t think he ever uses it.$

$This loft cover is just outside the bedroom door of our landlord. I haven\'t actually been up in the loft, but I have visions of a lone chair with a short length of rope attached to one of the cross-beams. Perhaps there\'s some embedded fingernail fragments in the wood with trails of blood leading away from them. Don\'t have nightmares.$

$Putting up kitchen shelves soon and wood will need cutting. With that in mind, we have a saw. I really should\'ve moved the string out of the way, but I couldn\'t be bothered. (8+p$

$There was some criticism from certain bodies (you know who you are!) regarding the \'COOKIES!\' image in this set, so I decided to do a shot of biscuits that they wouldn\'t argue about. Every likes a Bourbon every now and again, right? And if you don\'t, you should do, unless eating chocolate would kill you or something, in which case you need to get that looked at. Jus\' sayin\'.$

$House photos will resume tomorrow. In the mean time we\'ll make do with Jelly Babies. Quite fitting really, as we are half way through the week which sees the Doctor Who episode written by Neil Gaiman get it\'s first broadcast. Excited? Me? Heh.$

$Continuing the theme of looking at my immediate environment differently, here\'s the kitchen. This was taken from ground level with the camera leaning slightly against the bottom of the stairs looking up and in to the kitchen - you can see the doorframe clearly at either side of the image.$

$366-348 - It\'s tea. Why is it so hard to title that? *sigh*$

$More cookies, only this time I\'d hope less people will have issues with these than the others in this set.$

$During a retro gaming session of Tekken 5 on the PS2, my housemate decide to let Ripley out of her tank and watch for a bit. Apparently Ripley\'s a fan of watching TV, and if this is anything to go by, she certainly does enjoy watching it.$

$The chair itself has been part of a number of images in this project, so I thought it was time for it to feature. It\'s not the image I wanted to take, but that can wait for another day.$

$366-076 - It\'s About Time$

$I shall leave you with the question unanswered. It\'s up to you to decide.$

$A mate of a mate (when is it okay to say that they are your mate?) got some custom IEM\'s (in ear monitors for those not in the know of such things) and left them in our house while he went out fitness training. So I took pictures of them - well, would you expect anything less of me? He does parkour, and that\'s a silhouette of him in action on one of the monitors. The other is inscribed with a custom logo of the name he goes by on the parkour circuit, and also makes up the first part of the title of this image. The monitors themselves are the 1964 Ears of the title.$

$I was invited along on a road trip to Delvin, County Westmeath, Ireland, and this is one of the images I brought back. <a href=\"http://www.flickr.com/photos/scifigeek/sets/72157626621021061/\">See here</a> for more images from the trip.$

$Previously we were just using screws sticking out the wall and the landlord wasn\'t happy about that. I should state for the record it was the previous tennants that put the screws in the wall. So using the existing wall holes I re-drilled these new hooks and put them up for him.$

$366-173 - Where\'s Wally?$

$366-358 - Hook \'n\' Hoop$

$A quick snap for today\'s effort. Sun streaming in through the kitchen windows and while I was stood by the toaster waiting for my breakfast crumpets to pop up I saw my silhouette against the wall and thought about this set.$

$I had to vacuum this to get rid of the cobwebs, but it\'s nice and I may revisit it at a later date.$

$Wonderfully colourful net curtains in my landlord\'s room backlit by the sun. I was up there yesterday and spotted these and thought they\'d make a nice photo. Was I wrong?$

$Not new feet but not exactly well worn either. I don\'t normally buy trainers but these were cheap(ish) and are very comfortable and it\'ll leave my walking shoes in much better condition come the autumn and winter.$

$This had the capacity to be a really nice photograph, but I messed it up. Made for me by my landlord\'s girlfriend, the Rice Noodle was very nice.$

$366-272 - IT\'S NOT CHRISTMAS!$

$Not my first choice of subject matter for today\'s image, but the first one I took was rubbish, and I couldn\'t be bothered setting it all up again, so here we are.$

$This is kind of how I\'m feeling at the moment, all coiled up with nowhere to go. I must try to remedy this.$

$Okay, so it wasn\'t that hot, but it\'s been a warm day here today. So after making a trip out to get some shelves and then coming back and going food shopping, I relaxed a bit with the back door open (sunlight filling the back yard - as you can see) with a chilled bottle of ginger beer.$

$Taken from the first floor landing looking down towards the front door. The amount of light at the foot of the stairs is misrepresentative of the amount of light that there actually was because of the length of exposure. It also makes it look like it\'s a really warm day, when it\'s really not. Hmm, a photo never lies. Really?$

$Taken late last night before they got tidied away prior to me getting up today. It was one of those \'I must take this shot before the moment is lost\' moments.$

$366-366 - Closed for Business - It\'s a metaphor, see?$

$It\'s an old battered CD player that my housemate uses to play the Rocky training montage music whenever he goes TKD training. Well, not really, but it sets a scene, right? (for the record my housemate does actually do TKD and will likely bury me for the above comment - so if this is my last 366 image then you know what\'s happened to me - I\'ll be under the back patio). It actually doesn\'t belong to us at all, it just seemingly lives with us.$
