A week ago today I flew to London to meet up with a friend (Nick Miners). From London we travelled by train to Brussels and then on to Bruges.
We went with the express intention of photographing some of the wonderful mediaeval architecture but what I certainly never expected was to find myself in such a friendly, laid back and stunning part of the world.
I have never really experienced anything quite like the feelings of openness towards photographers that I felt whilst we wandered around the city with backpacks, tripods, long and wide lenses. It truly was a joyous experience. No matter what time of the day I never once felt as though we were anything other than welcomed.
